HL7505 is a synchronous buck converter developed specifically for the different core power system requirements of portable product applications. Its input voltage range is from 2.5V to 5.5V. HL7505 can provide up to 3A of current with an efficiency of 80%, while maintaining over 80% efficiency at load currents as low as 10mA. It operates at a fixed frequency of up to 2.2MHz, thereby reducing the values and sizes of external inductors and capacitors. Within a wide range of output capacitance values, HL7505 maintains stable output. The recommended power inductor value for HL7505 is 0.33μ. Under medium and light load conditions, HL7505 uses pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode to achieve higher power conversion efficiency, with a typical quiescent current of 50µA. Even with such a low quiescent current, HL7505 still maintains good load and line transient response. Under heavy load conditions, the system automatically switches to a fixed frequency pulse width modulation (PWM) mode at 2.2MHz to achieve minimal output voltage ripple and optimal load transient response. In shutdown mode, the shutdown current is as low as 1μA, greatly saving system power consumption.
