The product is powered by a USB port or AC adapter, featuring input over-voltage protection and a high input voltage range that supports low-cost unregulated adapters. HL7040 is a single-output charging chip, and if the average system load can fully charge the battery within a 10-hour safety timer, the system load can be connected in parallel with the battery. The battery charging process is divided into three stages: pre-charge, constant current, and constant voltage. During all charging stages, the internal control loop monitors the chip's junction temperature, and when it exceeds the internal temperature threshold, it actively reduces the charging current. The charger power stage and charging current monitoring function are fully integrated, providing high-precision current and voltage regulation, charging status indication, and charging cutoff functionality. The pre-charge current and cutoff current thresholds can be programmed via external resistors on the HL7040, and the fast charge current value can also be programmed using an external resistor.
